Transport of generator weighing 148 tonnes from dockside, Ellesmere Port to Shotton on Deeside was straight forward compared to installation at site. Very restricted access and low floor space conspired to produce a challenging project. Using extensive quantities of stillage and matting, JPL lifted the generator from transport and placed it on foundations 2.5m high using a hydraulic gantry system.
